Changes to my study programme

Hi, today I'm going to get straight to the point, and tell you about my study program and the changes I would make to it (if I had the chance obviously).

In the biochemistry career, most of the subjects studied in the first 2 years are introductory or very general, because with this the university seeks to level and teach in the best way the sciences at a very general level, so that the more specific branches are not strange to students. This is something that I would not change because it is a part of the program that is fine, since teaching in a general way makes students of the 4 careers of the faculty share branches and can generate a community and there is not so much difference between careers, in addition to all these subjects have the same academic weight, In reality, there are some subjects that require more hours of study, either because of their difficulty or simply because the way of doing classes and evaluations is poorly implemented, or simply because they are the typical subjects called "head cutters".

In the aforementioned, can be included subjects such as general chemistry II, electromagnetism, organic chemistry I and II, and mainly the most feared and hated subject by many, Physicochemistry. What happens is that in these branches, at least this last time that have been in online or blended mode, the use of platforms such as canvas, has hindered the evaluations as there are times when the platform collapsed or simply did not work properly, as well as the use of the zoom platform for classes, having about 300 students connected simultaneously, bothered the participation of some and did not generate a comfortable space to understand, because sometimes you could not even talk or ask questions about the subject simply because we were many in a session.

But the branches that have adapted their program well over the years, are the practical or laboratory branches, who have implemented the mixture of online use for the introduction of the laboratories, and then in person the realization of these activities, in the Ceruti building, which is where most of the laboratories of the subjects of the first 2 years are located. These courses have a good teaching method since, I can say from my own experience, I have never forgotten anything of the labs that I did last year, and that help me to do the ones I am doing now and even to understand new methodologies.

Finally I want to mention that due to the contingency in which we are, many subjects do not use the classroom methodology, but there are others that do, in these we take advantage of all available spaces, either the use of rooms to take classroom tests, the use of the court or gyms for sports cfg, among other things.  And with this I want to end my experience and what I find wrong with the university program.
